Topic Research

The Cowardly Lion


The topic I have chosen to conduct research on is the Wizard of Oz Stories. I am very interested in this saga of books and how it differs from the films. As of right now, my understanding is that this story is similar to The Chronicles of Narnia in the way that different travelers take a journey to this separate world and watch it change over time.
From Professor Gibbs email in response to my favored story topics, I have chosen a chunk of stories that seem very interesting. I have chosen the Third Chunk of stories to dive into and that chunk contains these stories; 12. The Search for the Wicked Witch 13. The Rescue 14. The Winged Monkeys 15. The Discovery of Oz, the Terrible 16. The Magic Art of the Great Humbug. Wizard Of Oz Stories

I have chosen this chunk due to my familiarity with some of the stories, as well as my unfamiliarity with other story aspects. For instance, the wicked witch is a character who I know and understand, but when it comes to "The Magic Art of the Great Humbug" I am completely oblivious to what that entails.

I am very excited to dive into this story more and get a whole new understanding of the Wizard Of Oz.

Reading Notes "The Stone Ape"

The Stone Ape and the Waterfall Once there was a large stone at the top of a massive mountain. This stone was special and it could absorb all of the energy from the heavens and the earth. This supernatural stone was magnificent and everyone who viewed it was in awe. One day, the stone had finally taken in so much energy that it couldn't take any more. The stone burst into pieces and out of the explosion of rock came an egg. This egg was made of stone as well and once the egg was ready it hatched just like the stone before it had. Deaths Messengers One day a giant was walking along a highway when a man jumped out at him and told him to stop. The man said, "I am death, you have to listen to me." The giant denied him and told death to move out of the way. They disagreed and began to wrestle. It was a long and tough battle but the giant gained the upper hand. He defeated death and left him on the side of the road. Death laid on the road concerned with what the world would look like without him. He was concerned for the people who wouldn't die in his absence. The world would be full of people and nobody would be able to move.
