Tech Tips "Google Analytics"

This past summer I had the opportunity to accept an internship with a pet product distribution company in Indiana. I worked in the marketing department there and while I was there I had the opportunity to work with the tool Google Analytics.

Google Analytics is a tool that can measure all kinds of data from individuals who visit your website. Google Analytics was able to gather geographical information along with demographic information.

One of the most interesting things that I saw while working there was that when someone visited our website I could log on to the program and look up where that person is from, their gender, their age, and what else they searched for on the internet. This is due to websites using cookies to collect data. Anytime you visit a new website there is something collecting your information and storing it to better target advertizements towards you.

Some people are very fearful of this kind of tech but I think it is really cool! People are figuring out ways to only show me the things I want to see and that makes the internet experience so much better.

The Stone Ape and the Waterfall Once there was a large stone at the top of a massive mountain. This stone was special and it could absorb all of the energy from the heavens and the earth. This supernatural stone was magnificent and everyone who viewed it was in awe. One day, the stone had finally taken in so much energy that it couldn't take any more.
