Cat from Canvas For the last week of the year and the last 30 minutes of this class, I thought it best for me to do a backup and review assignment. The first part of this assignment is to find an image from the announcement page and talk about it. This image of this cat was the image for this week and it is almost funny how fitting it is. I struggle with procrastination often and this class has gotten the brunt end of that. Due to this, I have had to grind these past few weeks to get the grade I wanted in this class. An example of constructive feedback. For this Growth Mindset blog post I have chosen to focus on feedback from others and how it affects me and my work ethic. This class is a wonderful outlet for feedback being that every assignment I submit can be reviewed and commented on by others in my class. In fact, their grade depends on giving feedback on my projects. This class has put me in an unfamiliar position as I have never been reviewed this rigorously before. One thing that I know I have learned from this experience is that many perspectives are better than one and that my work isn't perfect and that's ok. These two things coincide with each other because they both relate to eyes on my work. In this class, I have seen many different responses to my blog posts with constructive criticism. The amount I received was astonishing in all honesty. People weren't critical of me because I missed a comma or spelled a word wrong. People in this class were offering me diffe...

This past summer I had the opportunity to accept an internship with a pet product distribution company in Indiana. I worked in the marketing department there and while I was there I had the opportunity to work with the tool Google Analytics. Google Analytics is a tool that can measure all kinds of data from individuals who visit your website. Google Analytics was able to gather geographical information along with demographic information. One of the most interesting things that I saw while working there was that when someone visited our website I could log on to the program and look up where that person is from, their gender, their age, and what else they searched for on the internet. This is due to websites using cookies to collect data. Anytime you visit a new website there is something collecting your information and storing it to better target advertizements towards you. The Fox and the Horse There once was an old horse who had done all of the work it could have for its master. He had grown too old to make use for himself so his master took him aside and said, "I have no use for you any longer, you are worn out. I will no longer care for you. I am casting you away and the only way you would be able to return is if you come back stronger than a lion" The horse then went out and started moping through the woods. The old horse knew that he could never be as strong as a lion so he made his way looking for what little food and shelter he could find. As the horse was walking along a fox saw him. The Emperors New Suit There once was an emperor who believed that the clothes that he wore were the greatest source of popularity. He held his fashion in the highest regard. This leader didn't care about what he ate, or how he ruled, or anything that didn't pertain to his clothing. This emperor had a different outfit for each hour of the day. Everyone in his kingdom knew that this emperor always wore the most expensive threads. One day two swindlers came into town.
